Strategy
aventron is an established Swiss green power producer and operates hydro, wind and solar power plants in six European countries. In the medium term, the company plans to build up a diversified and balanced portfolio of renewable energies with a total installed capacity of 1000 megawatts and thus become a leading operator of renewable power plants in Switzerland and Europe.
Diversification is a key element of the investment strategy in order to minimise the risks in the individual markets, in the legal framework conditions and in the availability of the types of generation. In future, electricity production from hydropower and solar power should each account for around 20 - 30 percent of sales, while energy production from onshore wind power should account for around 50 percent. aventron is concentrating on the markets of Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Norway. The declared goal is not to generate more than 40 percent of sales in any of these countries and yet to achieve the necessary critical size everywhere.
aventron invests 25 to 30 million euros of equity per year across the three generation types. Depending on the project, the equity share is between 20 and 50 percent. Investments are made in plants with mature technology that are already in operation or have full approval at the start of construction. The sale of power plants is not part of the business model. In addition to further acquisitions, aventron will exploit all synergy opportunities in plant operation to further increase operational excellence. The increasing expansion of a diversified portfolio will increase sales and profitability.
