In the first half of 2020, aventron produced 550 GWh of renewable electricity and generated a profit of CHF 10.3 million. The production portfolio increased to 564 megawatts (previous year period 482 megawatts).
aventron got off to a successful start in 2020, generating net revenue from energy deliveries of CHF 55.3 million (previous year 54.2) and EBIT of CHF 20.5 (19.2) million in the first half of the year. With its power plants in six countries, aventron produced 550 (490) GWh of renewable energy, which is significantly above expectations due to the good meteorological conditions. As of the balance sheet date, aventron operates a portfolio of 564 (482) megawatts in Europe. The commissioning of the 50 megawatt Bargas solar power plant in Spain contributed significantly to the portfolio expansion.
In relation to net sales, the EBITDA margin is slightly higher than in the previous year at 72.7 (71.3) percent and the EBIT margin is also 38.0 (35.1) percent. The half-year net result was CHF 10.3 (8.5) million. This corresponds to an improvement of 21 percent compared to the previous year. Half-year earnings per share increased to 0.210 (0.195) Swiss francs per share. For 2020 as a whole, the Executive Board expects somewhat muted annual results due to lower energy market prices. The exceptionally mild winter of 2019/20 is putting pressure on electricity prices in Norway, while the COVID crisis is leading to reduced economic performance in Europe in general. As more than 80 per cent of the Group's net revenues are hedged, the discount will be limited. aventron's business model continues to prove robust.
