aventron continued to position itself successfully in the 2021 financial year and increased its profit to CHF 16.9 million. For the further expansion of renewable energies, aventron proposes a capital increase of a maximum of CHF 60 million at an issue price of CHF 11.50 per share for the attention of the AGM.
aventron's net sales increased by 16 percent to CHF 120.2 million (previous year CHF 103.7 million) in the 2021 financial year. The further expansion of the power plant parks and higher electricity prices contributed to this growth. aventron increased its EBIT disproportionately by 18 percent to CHF 37.2 million (previous year: CHF 31.5 million). The special market circumstances led to a profit of 16.9 million francs (previous year 12.7 million francs) and thus to earnings per share of 0.35 francs. At the end of 2021, the portfolio comprised a consolidated total output of 682 (PY 604) megawatts. The wind power segment delivers 49 percent of sales. 32 percent comes from the photovoltaic segment and 19 percent from the hydropower segment. The revenues are thus distributed evenly among the different energy sources.
12 percent higher dividend proposal
aventron would like its shareholders to participate in the good annual results. The Board of Directors will therefore propose to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) that the dividend be increased by 11.5 percent to CHF 0.29 per share (previous year CHF 0.26). The Annual General Meeting of aventron AG will take place on 21 April 2022.
In 2021, investments of CHF 36.5 million were made in the acquisition of existing power plants and in the construction of own production facilities. As of the balance sheet date, total assets amounted to CHF 862.0 million (previous year: CHF 758.1 million). At the end of 2021, the aventron Group had cash and cash equivalents of CHF 104.7 million (previous year: CHF 75.8 million).
Capital increase planned for 2022
To finance the targeted expansion of the diversified power plant portfolio, aventron intends to have a further capital increase with a volume of up to 5.2 million shares approved by the 2022 Annual General Meeting. This corresponds to an increase in equity by a maximum of CHF 60 million. The registered shares will be issued at CHF 11.50 per share. The newly acquired funds will be used for the further expansion of the power plant portfolios. As an interim goal, the company would like to achieve a portfolio of 750 MW by 2023.
