The Swiss electricity producers aventron and Swisspower Renewables aim to leverage synergies and are exploring the possibility of closer cooperation.

aventron AG, headquartered in Münchenstein (BL, Switzerland), is an established producer of electricity from renewable energy sources. The company focuses on the acquisition and operation of hydropower, wind and solar power plants in Switzerland and selected European countries. Its current generation portfolio has an installed capacity of 826 MW.

Swisspower Renewables AG, headquartered in Zug (ZG, Switzerland), is a company owned by several Swisspower municipal utilities and an investment fund. It has built up a portfolio of renewable power generation assets in Germany and Italy. The total installed capacity amounts to 311 MW and likewise includes hydropower, wind and solar installations.

The two Swiss companies are examining the possibility of closer cooperation. The objective is to make better use of synergies in order to successfully address the current challenges facing the energy sector and to unlock further potential for the expansion of renewable electricity generation.
