In the first half of 2025, aventron produced 670 gigawatt hours of renewable electricity and achieved a profit of CHF 5.7 million. At the reporting date, aventron’s European portfolio stood at 826 megawatts (previous year: 785 MW), of which 70 MW are under construction.
Net revenue for the first half of 2025 was CHF 58.3 million (previous year: CHF 72.4 million), with EBIT of CHF 13.6 million (previous year: CHF 27.9 million). In addition to falling electricity prices, exceptional weather conditions – weak wind patterns and very low precipitation across Europe – reduced production to 670 GWh (772 GWh in the previous year), around 19 percent below expectations. This shortfall could not be offset by the acquisition and commissioning of two new wind and hydropower plants as well as ten new solar facilities.
Contribution to security of supply
Eric Wagner, CEO of aventron, said: “In the Alps, we are working with partners to develop two of Switzerland’s first high-altitude PV plants. Together with energia alpina we are building the Sedrun Solar project with 18.3 MW at over 2,000 metres above sea level. With energieUri we have founded APV Sidenplangg to construct an alpine PV plant in Spiringen (8.1 MW), the first of its kind in Central Switzerland. Such projects are of supraregional importance for security of supply, particularly in winter. Both are being implemented under the Solar Express programme, with first sections feeding power into the grid by the end of this year.”
